As I worked on this art project i was very conflicted on which design i would want to make with my creative font that i created i took the statement "Queens don't compete with hoes" and arranged it around this poster board to give it a very complicated style that no matter which angle you were to look at it you could read it at least one angle.
the two i would compare is the drip project and the destruction project because i used crayon for both projects and they both turned out diffrent. with diffrent out comes but the same color.
If I were to change one project and do it diffrently i would have to say i would have focused more on this project and not let kids play with it and mess it up. i would also add more stuffing in the middle.
I feel as though my most successful project would have to be the distruction project where I took the drip project and remelted it and turned it into a hair style. I feel it was the most successful simply because I like how the colors turned out in layers.
I did this piece because I liked the idea of crayons melting down a board but I wanted to try hanging it upside down and seeing how it would turn out, at this moment I do not have a final picture of this project I will get one soon to update this post but till then I will tell you how I did this project. First I cut the plastic containers in half and used those as my base at first tried to only use the smaller/ normal size crayons but I soon ran out and had to use the bigger size my pattern was based off a rainbow but with crayons it didn’t turn out as I planned I expected the crayons to have a harder structure when it melted but it turned to the same constancy as water and just dripped down into a puddle and made layers but it’s hard to see the layers.
I did this project because I seen a student make a picture out of sticky notes and I wanted to make mine relevant to the classroom, my art teachers favorite saying for when one of us are acting up is "Don't be a bad baby." So I wanted to make it funny and since I only had certain colors I couldn't do much. I will be writing three different different quotes from my teacher on each sticky note. They will say "No dating in high school." "Boys are gross." Don't be a bad baby." i was inspired by my teacher and his students from his old school.
For this project i dipped a string in the wax to get a sold structure to start with. Than i let all of the wax melt completely once it is completely melted i separated the wax into different containers and to get the colors i placed crayons of different shades in each container and mixed it till the color of my choice. i had to let the wax dry( Which took forever!) After the wax dried i cut the wax and put the colors in my base and did one layer at a time.
I know what you are thinking "I thought this was a clothes pin drawing." Well I'm here to explain how I got a dream catcher and a watch as a turn out, well here is my story of the clothes pin drawing. First, I walked into my art class and was really hoping I could a use acrylic paint and water color all in one just because people told me it would look terrible together, so of course I had to prove them wrong. Once my teacher told me we were doing this project he handed out a single clothes pin to each student and said "That whatever you think of when looking at the clothes pin draw it." Well I thought of a clothes pin holding up a dream catcher and the more I thought of how I'm going to do it the more that time ticked by so I added the time of when I first started this project. Soon, after drawing it out I realized that I wanted to prove people wrong and did the background with water color and the ribbon on the dream catcher and watch with acrylic.
